Microplastics and Mental Health: a Presentation by Dr. Elizabeth Ryznar
5 pm PT / 8 pm ET
Join Dr. Elizabeth Ryznar for a fascinating and sobering look into the powerful effects of microplastics on mental health.
Plastics are petrochemical products whose production and waste has exploded exponentially over the past few decades. This talk will explore the multiple ways that plastics can affect brain health across the plastics life cycle. Participants will learn how plastics production exacerbates climate change and air pollution, what direct and indirect neuropsychiatric effects plastic have, and why recycling is not the solution to this problem.

She completed her medical training at Harvard Medical School, her residency training at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, and her postdoctoral training in medical education at Johns Hopkins.
